  • Cai Rang floating market

Cai Rang Floating Market Tours, the largest wholesale floating market in the Mekong Delta, starts around 04:00 and runs until 10:00. Meaning that you’ll have to get an early start of the day if you want to visit. The market is about six kilometers from Can Tho, or about a 40-minute boat ride. While floating down the river, you get a glimpse of life along its shores. You’ll pass vibrantly painted boats anchored along the shore, merchant vessels carrying loads down the river, and houses built on stilts over the water.   • Binh Thuy Ancient House

Binh Thuy ancient house is one of the few remaining French-Chinese-Vietnam style houses in Can Tho, Mekong Delta. In 2009, it was designated as a National Architectural and artistic monument. The Duong family built this house in 1870 on a nearly 6000 square meter plot of land. Duong Minh Hien, the sixth-generation member of the Duong family, is now maintaining the house.

To serve the cake, they top Tam cake with Bi, pickles, herbs, onion oil and a greasy sauce from coconut cream. When eating, dinner pours sweet-sour fish sauce dip onto the plate of Tam bi cake, then eat with chopsticks.
